During the recent years the Signage business in Pakistan has shown tremendous growth, and it is now being considered an industry with potential for further expansion, foreign collaboration and investment. In view of the increasing demand for the representation of the business comunity, I took the initiative to form Pakistan Outdoors Media Advertisers Association (POMAA) under the patronage of honorable late S.H.Hashmi, who was known as 'Father of Advertising' for this pivotal role related to the development of the advertisement industry in Pakistan.
With the vision of bringing new technology, new trends and modern sign products in Pakistan's Signage industry and to increase the awareness related to the signage industry, the SignBizAsia magazine is being published exclusively focusing the Out of Home Media( Outdoor Advertising) for the very first time in Pakistan. I am confident that this magazine will definitely help our advertisers in not only inderstanding the International Signage Industry, but also help them in evaluating and observing rapid changes in trends and technologies around the world.
Pakistan's Signage and our advertisers has all the potential to progress and to compete in the international market as during last few years the Pakistan's Signage Industry growth rate is increasing with the increase in numbers of Signage all over the Pakistan, but we need to realize the need and importance of knowledge, education and awareness of new technology and that can only be achieved if we all colectively put our efforts for the betterment of out Signage Industry.
Being the President of POMAA (Pakistan Outdoor & Media Advertisers Association) and Regional Chairman of ASA (Asia Sign Association) in Pakistan, I also had the honor of representing Pakistan's Signage industry for the very first time in SIGN ASIA EXPO 2006 help in Bangkok during September 2006 along with six member delegation of advertisers from Pakistan. Sign Asia Expo is one of the largest Asia Sign Manufacturers Expo representing Asian Sign with almost 900 Booths of 500 companies from China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Japan with approximately 12000 attendees from all over the world making the Expo more beneficial and productive for the Asian Sign Industry.
Asia Sign Association is proudly associated with China, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Pakistan as its Regional Member Country for providing their customers an authentic and relaible networking and business platform within its regional member countries and the membership of ASA in Pakistan is open for all advertisers working in Pakistan and ASA is ready to cater their need witn complete cooperation.
It is certainly an honor for all of us that now, Pakistan is being represented in the leading conferences and expo in the United States of America and Asia Region.
It is also a fact; that the present government's investor friendly policies and Pakistan's new image of moderated and enlightened peace loving nation has helped us all in achieving what was not possible in the 90's. And at this point, I would like to thank everyone associated with POMAA, the Press & Publication Department - Government of Pakistan, the Honorable Cty Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal and the CDGK officers for their encouragement and help in bring this publication a reality.
